Mario Ortegon On D&D en Espanol

UX Designer, gamer, and extraordinary DM/Narrator Mario Ortegon joins our hosts Greg Tito (@gregtito) and Shelly Mazzanoble (@shellymoo) to talk about his work on "Una Partida Mas" (One More Game) which brings Dungeons & Dragons to Spanish speaking players and audiences on his Twitch channel at Twitch.tv/elwarius. Mario is originally from Mexico, which is where he first began playing D&D via online forums and text messaging after becoming interested in the game after seeing the Dungeons & Dragons live-action movie. Mario went on to DM his own homebrew campaign, in which he drew inspiration from the rich history of the ancient Maya, Inca, and Aztec cultures. Lore You Should Know – Chris Perkins & Matt Sernett are on today to teach us about the long, contentious history of the Gith. Once slaves under the oppression of the Mind Flayer empire, these humanoids rose up behind a great leader named Gith, which is where they take their name from. Through much strife and bloodshed, they finally defeated their tyrannical illithid masters. But, peace did not follow. A rift erupted within the Gith people soon after the war and they split into two groups known as the Githzerai and Githyanki, which have vehemently despised each other ever since. Here's a guide to when each segment on the podcast begins: 00:00 – Intro with Shelly Mazzanoble (@shellymoo) and Greg Tito (@gregtito) 13:20 – Lore You Should Know with Chris Perkins & Matt Sernett– Gith 33:57 – Mario Ortegon (@elwarius) 1:13:43 – Outro with Shelly Mazzanoble and Greg Tito
